Video quality, processed on your device.1080p Lock uses the supported website’s available quality controls. It does not provide a streaming service, unlock restricted video quality or work on every video website.
Privacy policy
Robin’s Digital Designs is operated by Robin Jones (“we,” “us” or “our”). This policy covers 1080p Lock for Safari and Chrome, this policy page and support we provide for the app. It explains information processed on your device and information received when you visit this page or contact us.
What the extension handles
On its supported websites and matching embedded players, the extension reads the current page address, player quality choices, selected quality and video dimensions. It observes focus, visibility and interaction timing so quality adjustments can avoid interrupting you. It does not record what you type or collect chat messages, passwords or payment details.
The extension processes this information locally. It does not transmit browsing information to us, keep a browsing-history log, use remote code or operate an analytics service. We do not sell this information or use it for targeted advertising. The extension has no developer account, advertising, tracking or telemetry.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
1080p Lock’s use of information obtained through Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information read by the extension is used only to provide its video-quality controls and status. That information stays on your device: we do not transfer it to us or other parties, use it for advertising or monetization, or allow people to read it. This statement concerns information handled by the extension; information you separately choose to email for support is described below.
Local settings & website access
The enabled/disabled preference is saved in the browser’s local extension storage. The extension can update the supported website’s own stream_quality preference in website storage. Temporary playback and pause state stay in memory. These settings are not synchronized by the extension.
You control website access through your browser’s extension settings. Access is limited to the three supported websites and their matching player pages. You can allow only those you use. You can disable the extension, revoke its website access or remove it through Safari or Chrome. Private-window or incognito access is optional and controlled by your browser.
Browser controls govern removal of extension data. The website’s quality preference can remain after uninstalling; change it in the website’s player or clear that website’s stored data to remove it. Revoking permission does not by itself erase existing website preferences. Your own backups, browser features or other software may retain separate copies.
The Safari version’s containing Mac app provides setup, extension status and help. It opens Safari settings, a supported website, this policy or support links only when you choose the corresponding control. It has no analytics or telemetry. Each streaming website separately processes your browsing and playback activity under its own policies, including any sign-in or account features.
Website visits and support
This policy website. Cloudflare hosts and delivers this page. It receives technical request information such as IP address, browser information, requested address and request time, and may process service or security logs. We have not added advertising, analytics scripts, marketing cookies, forms or browser storage to this page. Hosting security features may process additional technical information or use necessary cookies. See Cloudflare’s privacy notice.
Support. If you email us, we receive your address, message, attachments and other information you choose to provide. We use them to answer your request, troubleshoot problems and maintain relevant support records. Email providers process those communications. Please remove unrelated personal data from screenshots and diagnostics, and do not send passwords, payment-card numbers or recovery credentials unless an appropriate secure process has been agreed.
Stores and external sites. App stores, operating-system providers and websites you open handle their own installation, payment, diagnostic or website information under their respective policies and settings. Opening a support or website link makes a normal request to that service. Our local-processing statements do not describe those services’ separate activity. This policy page does not take payments.
Retention, deletion and your choices
On-device information remains under your control as described above. We cannot remotely inspect or erase information stored only on your device. Support records are kept as needed to resolve your request and for relevant follow-up, security, disputes or legal obligations. The appropriate period depends on the record and reason it is needed. Hosting and email providers apply their own service-log retention. Uninstalling the app does not erase support correspondence, provider records or backups.
We use information we receive to provide requested support, maintain security, resolve issues and comply with applicable obligations. Providers receive information needed for their role, including Cloudflare for this page and email providers for support. We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to address fraud, abuse or security incidents, subject to applicable law. Where a legal basis is required, it may be a requested service or contract, legitimate interests in support and security, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where required. Providers may process information in the United States or other countries; any transfers for which we are responsible must use safeguards required by applicable law.
Email hello@robinjones.work to request access, correction or deletion of personal information we hold. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may also have rights to a copy or portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or a complaint to your local data-protection authority. We may need proportionate verification and may retain information where legally required or otherwise permitted. Exercising applicable privacy rights will not result in unlawful discrimination.
1080p Lock is a general utility and does not ask children to create accounts or submit personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can review and address it.
Security and policy updates
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we handle, but no storage or transmission method is guaranteed secure. Protect your device, browser profiles and local settings. We will update the effective date when this policy changes and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required. New uses of information are not authorized merely by an unrelated change to our terms.
Terms of use
These terms describe use of 1080p Lock provided by Robin Jones, operating as Robin’s Digital Designs, and this policy website. They apply to the extent validly incorporated into your use or purchase under applicable law. Simply reading a privacy notice is not consent to data processing or a waiver of rights.
1. Your license and ownership
Subject to the terms that apply to your copy, you may install and use the app for its intended purpose on devices you are authorized to use. We retain rights in our software and designs. You retain rights in your own files, content and information.
If an app comes from an app store, that store’s applicable license and purchase terms govern the copy supplied there. For Apple-distributed apps, the Apple Standard End User License Agreement applies where no custom license is supplied. A separately supplied app license, an applicable open-source license, or purchase-specific terms take priority over conflicting general terms here. These terms do not expand a store license or replace terms already agreed for an existing purchase.
2. Responsible use
Use the apps only with files, devices, accounts and services you are authorized to access. Do not use them to gain unauthorized access, bypass payment or access restrictions, distribute harmful software, infringe another person’s rights or unlawfully interfere with a service. Do not resell or distribute our software except as its license permits. Nothing here restricts rights that applicable law or an open-source license requires us to preserve.
3. What the app can and cannot do
- 1080p Lock: Version 1.1 supports desktop YouTube and Twitch players alongside the app’s existing supported player. It is not a general-purpose quality tool for every video website. Available quality depends on that website, stream availability, account access, connection and browser behavior. It selects accessible 1080p when available and otherwise chooses the best accessible quality below 1080p. It does not select higher resolutions. Automatic changes wait for an idle, focused page and accessible controls; a website may start or reset above 1080p before adjustment. This is a player-quality preference, not a bandwidth cap. If no accessible quality at or below 1080p is offered, the extension reports that it cannot apply the preference. It does not unlock restricted HD, start trials or bypass access controls. Selecting higher quality can use more bandwidth or increase buffering. Website player changes may affect compatibility.
4. Other services and compatibility
Apps can depend on operating systems, browser features, permissions or external websites. Those providers may change their services. Third-party services and content have their own terms. 1080p Lock is independent of and is not endorsed by the supported websites’ operators. References to Apple, Google, browsers or other companies do not imply their endorsement.
5. Purchases, refunds and updates
Prices, taxes, compatibility, payment, delivery, license scope, refunds and any renewal conditions must be disclosed by the applicable store or checkout before purchase. This general page creates no subscription or automatic renewal.
For app-store purchases, use that store’s purchase and refund process. For a direct purchase when available, the terms shown at checkout and mandatory consumer protections apply. Contact us about faults, incorrect charges or delivery problems. Nothing here removes rights concerning defective or misdescribed software.
We may release updates or change availability. No particular future feature, update schedule or period of compatibility or support is promised unless separately agreed or required by law. Changes to this page do not retroactively reduce rights attached to an earlier purchase.
6. Warranties and responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law and subject to any express promises made for your purchase, the apps and website are provided as available, without a promise that they will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every purpose. You are responsible for reviewing actions, maintaining appropriate backups and using the apps within their documented limits.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses caused by use of the apps or third-party service changes. This does not exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable consumer guarantees, fraud, intentional misconduct or other mandatory protections. Any applicable store license or purchase-specific liability provision takes priority.
7. Ending use and resolving concerns
You can stop using an app and remove it at any time. Local files, recovery records or preferences may remain as described in the privacy policy. Ending a paid license, if applicable, follows the license and refund terms for that purchase.
Please contact hello@robinjones.work if there is a problem so we can try to resolve it. These general terms do not require arbitration, waive class proceedings or restrict any court, complaint or regulatory rights you have under applicable law.
8. Changes to these terms
The effective date identifies this version. Revised terms apply prospectively where legally effective and after any required notice or agreement. They do not silently replace purchase-specific terms or reduce accrued consumer rights. If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder applies to the extent permitted by law.
